Tour historic St. Thomas, the town that lived under Lake Mead for 60 years
This two mile guided hike of St. Thomas will be led by archaeolo-gists from the National Park Service and the State Historic Preser-vation Office, highlighting the history of the ghost town, what life was like there prior to being inundated, and what remains after being submerged for 60 years.
Guests will meet at Lost City Museum in Overton and caravan in their own transportation to St. Thomas. St. Thomas road is a grad-ed, dirt road, so be prepared to get dusty. The tour is a two mile hike, which is mostly flat but has a steep grade at the beginning and end. All Lake Mead entrance fees will be waived for partici-pants.
Guests are encouraged to bring hats, sunscreen, water, walking sticks, and wear sturdy shoes– this is an outdoor activity.
