Southern Nevada Archeology Speaker Series

Two State Museums are kicking off a new speaker series featuring lectures and workshops about Southern Nevada archeological projects. The first talk will be hosted at The Lost City Museum on February 1, 2018. Curator and Archeologist Mary Beth Timm will lecture about prehistoric human occupation in Moapa Valley. The second lecture will be hosted at Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas, on March 3, 2018. Nathan Harper, Archeologist, will discuss current projects and development in Springs Preserve Archeology.
BIOGRAPHY: Mary Beth Timm attended Beloit College (BA 2004), Western Michigan University (MA 2009), and University of Nevada, Las Vegas (PHD coursework) specializing in Bioarcheology. Her MA thesis discussed a skeletal anomaly within prehistoric inhabitants of Point Hope, Alaska. Mary Beth joined the Lost City Museum after working for three years at the northernmost point of Alaska. She has participated in archeological excavations in Peru, Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska.
